We began our Shining Star award program first quarter of 2017. Our goal was to design a program that would allow us to recognize one employee across the company every quarter that best represents and exemplifies the values of J&S Restaurants, Inc.
Each quarter we ask each of our General Managers to nominate an outstanding crew member from their store. After receiving the nominations, we have a selection committee to review them and then select the award recipient for the previous quarter.
The following are the award winners since we began the program along with actual excerpts from the nominations we received!
We have so many good employees!

Preston Higgins
Ocoee
2nd Quarter 2020
Shining Star Recipient
Preston has also been named the Boys & Girls Club of America Youth of the Year for his civic service, leadership skills, and an internal commitment for doing his best not only for himself but for the benefit of others. In a recent Hardee's guest survey a guest stated "Our area was hit by tornadoes last night and all I had in my car to pay with was four one-dollar bills and the rest were quarters. I don't have any water or power still, so when I apologized for using change, he said it was not a problem and sounded as if he sincerely meant it. I mentioned losing my purse somewhere last night when I had to leave home to escape the storm. He gave me $5 from his own pocket because I lost my purse. I didn't mean to say it for any other reason than I don't like paying in change because they are so busy in drive-thru right now. (For scale, this town only has 2 fast food drive-thrus.) He is a young teenager and it was so kind and he shared without thought. I know fast food pays minimum wage so that $5 is him working 45 min for free. I wanted not just his store manager to know, but as far up as I could contact."
"Preston is a great employee and is always willing to do whatever is asked of him. He is funny and never fails to put a smile on everyone's face! His ability to meet company standards and always going the extra step makes shifts he is on smoother." Amber Mitchell, Ocoee General Manager
